What's running, what it costs, what it remembers — and how to use your own assistant instead.
The desks, and what's behind them
The Agency isn't one chatbot wearing hats. Each desk is a separate specialist with its own brief, tools and thread — Bruno can't read Carlos's notes, and neither can see your crew's private room. They share one hard rule: events, venues and clubs come from the Bearings commons, never from the model's memory.

claude-sonnet-5Desks without their own line run on claude-sonnet-5. Lookup-heavy desks are pinned to smaller, cheaper models where judgement isn't the bottleneck — a cost decision, stated rather than hidden.
What you've spent
Talking to a desk is the only thing on Forage that costs money — every message runs a real model, and the steward pays for it. Browsing, Discover, Plan, your passport and the whole MCP side are free and always will be. This is the real metered number, not an estimate.

For scale: a normal back-and-forth with a desk is a few cents. A long research-heavy turn — searching the web, reading a dozen events — can be ten times that.
